Naming Ceremony Held for "GAIL URJA", 2nd Newbuilding LNG Carrier for Top Indian Gas Supplier GAIL

Tokyo - December 22, 2023

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that on December 19, a naming ceremony for the second newbuilding LNG Carrier to serve GAIL (India) Limited (Head Office: New Delhi), the largest natural gas supplier under India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, was held at the Okpo Shipyard of Hanwha Ocean Co. (Head Office: South Korea).

A large crowd was on hand at the ceremony as the vessel was named the GAIL URJA by God Mother Ms. Shakun Gupta who is the spouse of Mr. Sandeep Kumar Gupta - GAIL Chairman & Managing Director. Also Mr. Sanjay Kumar - GAIL Director of Marketing graced the occasion.

After delivery, the vessel is heading towards US for its first loading. The vessel will be engaged mainly in LNG transport from North America to India under a time charter contract with GAIL.
