TOKYO — Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.(MOL, President: Koichi Muto) today reported that at about 22:00 JST on Saturday, March 5 (about 17:00 on March 5 local time), the Aframax tanker Guanabara was attacked by pirates in the Indian Ocean about 400 nautical miles east of Oman.
<br><br> 
The pirates were brought under control by U.S. and Turkish naval units about 17:20 on March 6 JST (about 12:20 on March 6 local time).
<br><br> 
None of the crew was injured and there was no leakage of oil or other petroleum products. The vessel is continuing under its own power toward safe waters.

<br>Built in: 2007
<br>Crew: Total 24 including captain (2 Croatians/2 Montenegrins/2 Romanians/18 Filipinos)

<br>The ship took on a load of fuel oil at the port of Kerch, Ukraine, for delivery to Zhoushan, China.
