Supplying thermal coal to Soma Kyodo Power Company
December 1, 2011
TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced that the MOL-operated coal carrier Shunwa arrived at the Pier No.2 in the Port of Soma, Fukushima Prefecture on November 30 - the first coal carrier to call at Soma since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. The ship brought coal from the Port of Abbot Point in Australia to Soma Kyodo Power Company, Ltd.* (President: Kiyoshi Igarashi), which is reconstructing its Shinchi Power Station, and plans to resume operation in mid-December.

By ensuring a stable supply of raw materials through its worldwide ocean transport services, MOL continues to work toward reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas.
