NOL Operational update for Period 9

October 11, 2010: NOL has released its container shipping operating performance
for Period 9, the four weeks from 21 August 2010 to 17 September 2010.



For the four weeks of P9 2010, container shipping volumes increased 6% over the same period last year mainly due to higher volumes carried on the Transpacific and Asia Europe trade lanes. Average revenue per FEU (Forty-foot Equivalent Unit) was 38% above the same period last year, due to improved freight rates in the major trade lanes and peak season surcharges.

For P9 YTD 2010, container shipping volumes increased 29% while average revenue per FEU increased 21%, over P9 YTD 2009 levels.
