NOL Operating Performance for Period 11, 2010

December 6, 2010: NOL’s container shipping operating performance for the
4 weeks (Period 11) from 16 October 2010 to 12 November 2010 are as follows:



For the four weeks of P11 2010, container shipping volumes increased 6% over the same period last year mainly due to higher volumes carried on the Intra-Asia and Asia-Europe trade lanes. Average revenue per FEU (Forty-foot Equivalent Unit) was 25% above the same period last year due to improved freight rates in the major trade lanes. The drop in average revenue per FEU in P10 and P11 2010 compared to P9 2010 was contributed mainly from the Asia-Europe and Asia-Red Sea trade lanes.

For P11 YTD 2010, container shipping volumes increased 23% while average revenue per FEU increased 22%, over P11 YTD 2009 levels.
