7 weeks (Period 12) from 13 November 2010 to 31 December 2010 are as follows:
For the seven weeks of P12 2010, container shipping volumes increased 26% year-on-year mainly due to higher volumes carried on the Intra-Asia and Asia-Europe trade lanes. Volumes in P12 2010 grew 8% on a normalised six-week period over the same period last year. Average revenue per FEU was 21% above the same period last year due to improved freight rates in the major trade lanes, particularly the Transpacific and Asia-Europe trade lanes.
In 2010, container shipping volumes increased 24% year-on-year while average revenue per FEU increased 22%. On a normalised fifty-two-week period, volumes grew 21% over 2009 levels.
