Full imports surge 66.5% April 16, 2021 The Northwest Seaport Alliance handled a total of 330,175 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in March, growing 25% compared to March 2020. Full imports increased 66.5%, while full exports decreased 11.6%. Year-to-date volumes improved 11.8% to 881,794 TEUs, with full imports growing 27.5% and full exports declining 12.8%. The first vessel of ZIM's Southeast Asia E-commerce Xpress (ZX2) called Husky Terminal on March 23. The service focuses on expediting time-sensitive cargo across the Pacific Ocean. The ZX2 serves the growing Southeast Asia market, offering shippers more options to move goods through our gateway. For domestic trade, volumes grew 6.1% vs. YTD 2020. Alaska volumes saw a 3.9% increase while Hawaii volumes grew 15.9%.
