Novoship still has no connection to Moscow University

20:00 MT Novoship still has no connection to the oil tanker Moscow University which earlier today was attacked by pirates while proceeding eastbound from the Gulf of Aden.

Novoship is constantly monitoring the vessel's position. Currently the tanker is adrift staying in the point where the attack took place. The Russian-flag warship Marshal Shaposhnikov is proceeding to the vessel’s position.

Novoship stays in contact with the families of the crewmembers of Moscow University. The number of the hot line in Novorossiysk (Russia): (8617) 62-82-62.

The mv Moscow University is a Liberian-flag 106.000 dwt oil tanker built in 1999. When the attack occurred the ship was under way from the Red Sea to China for discharge of 86.000 tones of crude oil.
