Novoship’s new tanker NS Bravo delivered

On 14 October 2010, the delivery ceremony of the 156 000 DWT tanker NS Bravo ordered by JSC Novoship (Novorossiysk Shipping Company, SCF Group) took place in China at Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries.

The NS Bravo has the following specifications:

• length on average – 274.5 m
• breadth moulded – 48 m
• depth – 23.7 m
• draft – 17 m
• service speed (open water) – 15 knots

NS Bravo is the third vessel in the series of four Suezmax-type tankers ordered by Novoship in accordance with the company’s Fleet Renewal Programme for 2006-2010. The new tanker has been built with consideration of existing major oil companies’ projects and is intended for Russian cargoes. She can carry up to three different grades of cargo simultaneously.

The design and the operational characteristics of the B-series vessels are in compliance with the ultimate requirements of Oil Majors as well as the requirements set by international and national conventions related to safety of navigation and protection of marine environment. Lloyd’s Register has granted the NS Bravo the Environmental Protection Class, which means conformity to the highest industry ecological standard possible, besides the vessel has got the Green Passport.

The Sovcomflot (SCF) Group believes its modern, well-maintained fleet is a significant competitive advantage in the global market. At present there are 9 new vessels on order representing 700 thousand deadweight tons.
