OOCL and COSCON announce changes to their joint Middle East Express Service

Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd., (OOCL) and COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd. (COSCON) jointly announced changes to their existing Middle East Express service (MEX).
The revised MEX Service will be served with six 5,500-Teu containerships, with 3 vessels each from OOCL and COSCON . This replaces the Middle East Express currently run by OOCL, COSCON, and TSK which was operated with six 7,500-Teu containerships.
The new service is expected to start on April 18, 2010 ex Shanghai, with a port rotation of
Shanghai / Ningbo / Hong Kong / Shekou / Singapore / Jebel Ali / Dammam / Bandar Abbas / Singapore / Port Kelang / Hong Kong / Shanghai.
This is a dedicated service offered by OOCL and COSCON on the trade between Far East and the Middle East. The extended network to Port Kelang will better suit our customers’ needs and expectations.
