Pacific Drilling Announces Ultra-Deepwater Drillship
Pacific Sharav Begins Contract in U.S. Gulf of Mexico

Pacific Drilling S.A. (NYSE: PACD) announced today that its ultra-deepwater drillship the Pacific Sharav commenced its drilling contract on Aug. 27, 2014.
Pacific Sharav was delivered in May 2014 from Samsung Heavy Industries and is currently mobilizing to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, where the rig will work for Chevron under a five-year contract.
Pacific Sharav:
• Samsung 12000 design capable of operating in 12,000 feet water depth
• Equipped for 35,000 feet drilling depth
• Maximum 40,000 feet drilling depth
• 200-man accommodation
• 22,000 MT Variable Deck Load
• Dual derrick with 1250 ST Main and 1000 ST Aux load paths
• Main rotary 75.5”, Auxiliary rotary 60.5”
• Two each Active Heave Drawworks and TDX-1250 Top Drives
• Racking capabilities up to 20” casing
• 29,200 bbls liquid mud storage
• Seven HP pumps 7,500psi
• Dual mud system, dual gradient drilling capable
