RLTO CELEBRATES 1000TH CARGO LOADING

Doha - Qatar, 8 May April 2010: Ras Laffan Terminal Operations (RLTO), part of Qatargas Operating Company, achieved yet another milestone today when it celebrated the loading of its 1000th cargo.

This feat has been achieved without any lost time accident or hydrocarbon spillage in four years of RLTO’s operation of the Terminal.

Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Faisal Al Suwaidi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Qatargas Operating Company Limited, said:

This is a very significant accomplishment for Qatargas in our journey to becoming the world’s Premier LNG Company by 2015. Celebration of this 1000th cargo by RLTO is, in fact, a celebration of the synergy between companies operating from Ras Laffan Industrial City, without whose cooperation and support, this achievement would not have been possible.

A ceremony was held (today) to commemorate the occasion onboard the vessel, Gulf Glory. It was attended by Fred Smeenk, Chief Operating Officer - Operations, Qatargas, Niels Jan Soepnel, Terminal Manager, RLTO and Mohammad Al Kuwari, Operations Manager, RLTO. A commemorative gift was presented to Komchenko Viktor, Captain of the ship and a celebratory cake was cut. The cargo was headed for Khor Fakkan in the UAE.

RLTO was launched in 2006 to set up a Single Operator in Ras Laffan for all liquid petroleum products storage and loading. RLTO loaded its first Cargo in January 2007 and its 500th cargo in November 2008.
