San Juan Navigation Corp, a dry cargo operator based on the west coast of the United States suspended operations as of November 11th, 2011.

It was with great sadness that Ed Ellis, President of the 16 year-old company advised the company’s suspension of operations as the company fell victim to the market turmoil that has characterized the shipping market since 2008.

The hardworking and dedicated staff of San Juan Navigation Corp worked tirelessly and explored every avenue to avoid this outcome but the market has proved to be unforgiving.

Mr Ellis advised;

“In keeping with our record over the last 16 years of fair and responsible shipping practice, we want to do our utmost to make this transition as smooth and painless as possible for all the counterparties with whom we have existing transactions.

We are working with Owners and Charterers in a rational and cooperative manner to ensure that cargoes are delivered and ships continue to complete voyages as scheduled.

It is with a very heavy heart we have been forced make this decision.”
