The result of ship model test shows that compared to the existing vessels for its size category, SPA 80 has reduced the running resistance by about 13% and reduced fuel consumption by about 25% due to a modern diesel electric propulsion system, together with an optimized bulbous bow and hull line. SPA 80 has also achieves more than 30% additional cargo capacity by moving the engine room away from conventionally under deck to above the main deck. In order to be more active in environmental protection, SPA 80 is designed to have all the fuel oil tanks protected by a double shell and bottom, which reduces the risk of environmental impact caused by accident. It is the 1st time that all the fuel oil tanks are protected by a double shell and bottom applies to small OSV. Besides getting the class notation of “Clean Ship” from BV, SPA 80 has also got the class notation of “Oil Recovery Ship” which indicates that SPA 80 has possessed the function of recovering the spilled floating oil by itself, which had become a particularly important function of offshore vessel after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. “Thanks to the open platform Sinopacific provides, our design team can make SPA 80 come true. OSV is a type of vessel with high tailor-made requirements. The capability of understanding the client’s request and the smooth communication between clients and designers are crucial to SPA 80’s success. The innovative, dedicated and passionate spirit of design team also contributes a lot. “Mr. Lizhen, leader of offshore vessel design team of Sinopacific said. Seven years ago, Sinopacific firstly establish a professional design team of world-class talents among private shipbuilder in China. In 2005, Sinopacific conducted huge investment in its subordinate Zhejiang Shipyard to equip it with the most advanced offshore vessel building facilities in the world till now. Above are now proved to be a forward-looking strategy. It is expected that Sinopacific will own the intellectual right to SPA 80, which marks another milestone of Sinopacific’s innovation on OSV design and production. “We continuously enhance our R&D capability through an effective talent cultivation system. Now, we have become the leader in niche market of OSV.” said Mr. Simon Liang, Chairman & CEO of Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, “Based upon these achievements, we believe we will ship more success for our customers and partners.” SPA 80 Main Particulars: Length overall : 65.75m Breadth mould : 16.00 m Depth mould : 6.00m Design Draft : 4.30m Max Draft : 5.07m Generator power: 6,000ekw Deadweight : 1,800mt Service speed : 12.00knots Bollard pull: 80mt Sinopacific Ship Building Group press release |
