MT Stolt Strength Update Following Release by Hijackers

23.04.2009

London, England - April 23, 2009 - Stolt-Nielsen S.A. (Oslo Børs: SNI) reported today that MT Stolt Strength, chartered by its subsidiary Stolt Tankers B.V. from the ship's owners Segana Shipping, remains adrift off the coast of Somalia. The ship was released from its Somali captors on April 21, 2009. As a result of the long captivity the ship is low on bunker fuels and is now awaiting the arrival of a bunker barge arranged by the owner / manager.

Following the release of MT Stolt Strength the ship was accompanied by a naval warship, which was subsequently redeployed, leaving MT Stolt Strength unprotected. Despite repeated requests for military protection none has been forthcoming.

Stolt-Nielsen and the owner continue to seek assistance for the ship in order to secure the safe return of the crew.
