Over 250 die in 24 hours of flooding, landslides in Brazil       January 13, 2011



More than 250 people have died in just 24 hours after flooding and landslides in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Downpours caused mudslides, which destroyed mountain villages and highways, leaving thousands without power. The death toll is expected to rise. Rescuers are busy searching for any survivors.
