Second Zodiac-owned vessel hijacked in less than a week

The 1994-built, 13,363 dwt, UK-flagged car carrier Asian Glory has been seized by pirates on Friday 01 Jan 2010, about 600 miles off Somalia in the Gulf of Aden.

Zodiac Maritime latest announcement on Asian Glory:

January 2nd, 2010 - 17:00 hrs.
The Asian Glory was taken by pirates while on passage and 620 miles off the Somali coast.
It has been confirmed that all crew members are safe and unharmed.
She is now proceeding towards Somalia and owners are in contact with all the appropriate authorities to secure the early and safe release of the crew and ship.



Earlier this week another vessel of Zodiac Maritime was seized: The 1993-built, UK-flagged, 13,924 dwt, chemical tanker St James Park.

Our priority remains the quick and safe return of our crew and the ship.
The St James Park anchored off the Somali coast yesterday afternoon. We still have had no contact from the pirates.
