December 17, 2025 The Northwest Seaport Alliance awards over $330,000 to top ocean services for exceptional schedule reliability in the first period.Empty heading The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) is proud to announce the winners of monetary awards in the first measurement period of its Voyage Consistency & On-Time Arrival Award Program. This two-period program, running through May of 2026, recognizes and rewards international ocean carriers for their commitment to schedule reliability, which delivers significant service benefits across the gateway's supply chain. The first period, which was 13 weeks long concluded in November, saw 100% participation by carriers calling the gateway. Three services achieved the service eligibility requirements for a financial award. The Gemini Cooperation achieved first place with an impressive zero void sailings and an average of eight-hours off proforma estimated arrival time. The top three performing services - WC4/TP5, PN3, and Westwood Service - have earned financial awards as follows: 1st Place: Gemini Cooperation (Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk), WC4 | TP5 totaling $166,667 2nd Place: Premier Alliance (HMM, ONE, Yang Ming), PN3, totaling $100,000 3rd Place: Westwood Service, Swire Shipping totaling $66,667 These awards highlight the carriers' dedication to maintaining consistent voyages and on-time vessel arrivals at the Seattle and Tacoma harbors. Reliable vessel schedules are critical to the efficiency of the NWSA gateway which led to the NWSA's launch of an incentive program to influence better service reliability. When ships arrive on time, it leads to shorter truck turn times at terminals, lower rail dwell, improved earliest return date (ERD) performance for exporters, and overall smoother cargo movement - ultimately supporting a more resilient and fluid supply chain. The NWSA continues to monitor arrival performance and is considering options for continuing the program in future years to further incentivize schedule reliability. The NWSA appreciates all international carriers for their involvement in the program. Domestic carriers, while not eligible for this program, also play a vital role in the NWSA gateway and have shown strong on-time arrival performance this year. The NWSA uses eeSea as third-party provider of vessel arrival times and assistance with proforma schedules.
